Well…Who could have imagined it?

Forty six years ago when we started PortionPac we had some pretty ambitious objectives…revolutionize the detergent industry, set up new distribution systems, upgrade the education and respect for people who do the cleaning, etc. etc.

From Obscurity to Real Meaning by Jerry Kantlehner

The first Earth Day forty years ago is a vague memory. My daughter’s school had students plant a few trees around their property and she brought one home to plant in our yard. But one day a year spent thinking about the earth did not make sense to me. I grew up learning to understand and respect nature. Ever since my Dad took me fishing at age 4, I loved the outdoors and have taken great care not to tip its fragile balance.

Thoughts about Earth Day by Mark Samios, Education Director

Just back from the army, and in my first year of teaching Social Studies to Junior high school students, Earth day 1970 was a big deal for me. We had a school wide celebration with guest speakers in the field in the back of the school. I remember it well because I organized the event. Children of the 60’s, full of enthusiastic idealism… we were going to forge a better world, save the planet, end the war, and rid the nation and the world of poverty and disease. Somewhere along the way, like so many other generations before us, we must have become distracted. Forty years have passed and we are still struggling with the same problems.

Happy World Water Day!

Today is World Water Day and a good time to review what you are doing to protect this critical resource. In order for us all to live and our economy to thrive we must address this issue. Many of our states are losing crops and quality of life from their water shortage. Our industry’s number one cleaning product is water and you have the power to make a dramatic reduction in its use.
